Valentines Day

alright you haters. you may not want to read this post because one day each year i flip a switch and turn into a total female, wear something pink, and dance around singing about love and sparkled things.

i love valentines day.

i love it like i love coffee and donuts and tree climbing and traveling. which is to say, the MOST. i love it so much in college i would make all my valentines by hand and wake up at four in the morning, don my pink tutu and drive around to my friends dorms to tape valentines on their doors. its kind of a big deal.

i love v-day not because i've ever been in love with a dude. i love it because i love my people. i love my gal pals and i even love my man friends. i also love doing things for people and making sure those people know that i truly appreciate the friendship we share. love is the best and getting to show it is even the best-er.

so if you're a grouchy-head about valentines day and all you can think about is your singleness or that its a made up holiday or hallmark conspiracy or whatever, i'll just tell you that i love you. and Jesus loves you. and don't be such a ninny. and don't rain on my love parade because if you do, i will just strap on pink rain boots and tell people i love them anyway.

i wish you all the heart shaped chocolate and pink things this lovely February 14th. today, (and today only) i am sticking it to the man who sticks it to the man.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
