The Storytellers Series | a cooking disaster

Can i tell you about my cooking disaster? Because normally i am a really good cook. My husband and my kids like my food, other people i cook for like my food, people ask me for recipes all the time. I think i have a little bit of a pride issue about my cooking…

So i made this crock-pot meal. You put all the ingredients in a bag and freeze it and then the day you want to cook it for supper you just dump the bag into the slow cooker and ten hours later supper is ready. It’s a great idea in theory but it didn’t work out so well in real life. seems like it would be hard to make chicken and carrots and potatoes taste bad but i managed to do it. The freezer burned plastic-y taste but the rubbery, mealy texture sent it over the edge. It wasn’t eatable. I thought maybe some gravy would help but it didn’t and my sweet husband asked if i would kindly go pick him up some McDonalds. I ate a humble pie big mac for supper that night.

this series is a continuation from my sweet, creative friend Chelsea Francis.  she is the brain behind this project and i am so excited to take a turn listening to the many stories there are out there. Chelsea and her cool husband Tucker and the creatives behind Timber Hitch and if you haven't checked them out yet, you better because its a real treat. they shoot film and digital and their photos just seem to get better and better.
